Contada e recontada ao longo de gera\u00e7\u00f5es, numa noite fria e tempestuosa de inverno, S\u00e3o Martinho encontrou um sem-abrigo congelado que lhe pediu esmola. Sem nada mais para lhe dar, o cavaleiro tirou a capa das costas, cortou-a ao meio com a espada e deu-a ao vagabundo. Diz a lenda que, naquele momento, a tempestade desapareceu e um sol radiante come\u00e7ou a brilhar, o \u2018Ver\u00e3o de S\u00e3o Martinho\u2019. Ao longo dos anos, o 11<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;de novembro, Dia de S\u00e3o Martinho, \u00e9 geralmente marcado por um clima quente e ensolarado, ent\u00e3o prepare-se para aproveitar um fim de semana de \u2018ver\u00e3o de S\u00e3o Martinho\u2019!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ele foi um dos primeiros santos n\u00e3o m\u00e1rtires e a sua popularidade continua a ser consider\u00e1vel, sendo celebrado em todo o mundo. Enquanto em alguns pa\u00edses a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 comer&nbsp;<em>zeppole<\/em>&nbsp;ou batizando uvas, em Portugal celebramos S\u00e3o Martinho comendo castanhas assadas e bebendo&nbsp;<em>jeropiga,<\/em>&nbsp;uma mistura da aguardente local e mosto de uva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O Dia de S\u00e3o Martinho \u00e9 celebrado em Portugal numa \u00e9poca do ano marcada pela colheita da castanha (realizada durante os meses de outubro, novembro e dezembro) e, por isso, \u00e9 natural que as castanhas sejam convidadas a fazer parte das festividades! Mas a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o de S\u00e3o Martinho n\u00e3o se resume apenas \u00e0s castanhas.,&nbsp;<em>jeropiga<\/em>&nbsp;e o vinho da nova colheita tamb\u00e9m assumem protagonismo neste dia.
