September is here, and while the summer season is winding down, the Algarve is still buzzing with warm evenings and lively events. From music festivals to nature adventures, village traditions to international shows, there’s plenty happening across the region this month.

Here are some of our QP Savills selected favourite events happening this September:

Festival F – Faro | 4 – 7 September | 6 pm – 5 am
Faro’s Old Town comes alive with Festival F, one of Portugal’s biggest cultural celebrations. Expect four nights of Portuguese music from both established and emerging artists, alongside comedy, arts, handicrafts, and street food. The historic setting of Vila Adentro makes this festival one of the most striking in the country.

Feira da Dieta Mediterrânica – Tavira | 4 – 7 September
A city-wide celebration of Mediterranean culture along the Gilão River. Concerts, gastronomy, workshops, markets, and crafts bring Tavira to life.

Fisherman’s Festivities – Albufeira | 5 – 7 September | 6 pm – 1 am
Praia dos Pescadores hosts a much-loved seaside festival filled with music, local dishes, and a lively atmosphere. Join the community for three nights of entertainment right by the water.

Oktoberfest – Vila Vita Biergarten | 24 September – 5 October | Wed–Sat from 5 pm, Sun from 1 pm
Celebrate Oktoberfest Algarve-style at the authentic Biergarten in Porches. Long tables, Bavarian delicacies, live entertainment, and plenty of beer make this one of the Algarve’s most anticipated autumn parties.

Algarve Nature Fest – Aljezur & Monchique | 26 – 28 September
This year, Nature Fest expands across two municipalities, Aljezur and Monchique. Explore the Algarve’s natural beauty through hiking, cycling, boating, surfing, canoeing, and more. Organised by the Algarve Tourism Board, it’s an invitation to enjoy the region’s great outdoors.

Desfolhada à Moda Antiga – São Brás de Alportel | 27 September | 8 pm | Free entry
Step back in time with this traditional maize dehusking celebration. Enjoy music, dancing, local food, and the excitement of finding the “milho rei” (red cob), which comes with the right to plant a kiss.

Vilamoura Champions Tour – Vilamoura Equestrian Centre | Late September into October
The international show-jumping circuit returns for its autumn season, attracting elite riders and horses to Vilamoura’s renowned equestrian centre.

September may be the start of quieter days, but the Algarve is still bursting with colour, flavour, and tradition. Whether you’re in the mood for music, food, or fresh air, this month offers unforgettable ways to enjoy the season.
