The practice’s response draws on local Alentejo vernacular, including lime-washed walls, pitched tiled roofs and weathered timber, and pairs it with the disciplined modernism that has become its signature.

Materials are sourced regionally where possible, including reclaimed timber, hand-finished tile and stone from the surrounding hills. Window-to-wall ratios are weighted toward shade in the southern elevations and openness toward the dunes and pines.

The result is a vocabulary of homes that read as long-resident rather than newly placed.
